LED Lamps

If you are searching for a longer lasting lighting source, LED lamps are the solution, offering a 25,000 to 50,000 hour lamp life. LED or Lighting Emitting Diode, is the latest lighting technology that is beginning to create excitement. While LED’s have been around for a long time, their applications for general use lighting as exploded with many manufactures developing multi use LED’s for use in both residential and commercial applications. These applications include street lighting, LED light bulbs, strip lighting and even fluorescent tube replacements.LED’s are available in multiple colors, resist fading and are suitable for indoor or outdoor.

Halogen Types and Lamps

The benefit of LED’s is clearly their long life and very low power consumption. They also do not contain mercury, making them more environmentally friendly in terms of disposal as compared to fluorescent lighting. They are more expensive from an initial cost perspective that either incandescent or fluorescent lighting, however, when viewed long term, they are a good investment, particularly if long burn hours involved.

Halogen

LED’s are better at placing light in a single direction than incandescent or fluorescent bulbs. LED lights are more rugged and damage-resistant than compact fluorescent's and incandescent bulbs. LED lights don't flicker. However, they are heat sensitive; excessive heat or inappropriate applications can reduce both light output and lifetime.
